As this is first alpha I want to report some bugs

The non-ascii letters are broken.

-the app doesn't show only updated feeds

I also want to get the feed list by the swipe from left pane as in the case with Gmail

Installed on a stock SGH-i777 Samsung Galaxy S3 (USA AT&T) and it seems to be working OK. Hitting the menu button on the main screen has a weird double draw, but other than that it is OK.

I use google login, so my login didn't work until I went into the web app and set my password - this was a bit unexpected - I mostly thought I would see a "Login using Google"-like button as we get in the web interface.

FYI - with the latest Google I/O, they announced staged roll outs where you can have a beta crew but not everyone gets the update. It would be really great if you guys could use that so that we don't have to keep checking on the forums for new versions. My phone for some reason will *never* download files attached to phpBB forum posts. Never has... so to get your APK I have to download it on a PC, attach my phone to the PC via USB, copy the file, then find it in ES File Explorer, and finally install it ... a bit convoluted.

Also, does this mean that there is a login API now? :)

It's not the best reader I've ever used, but it's certainly not the worst one either. Glad you had the courage to start down the path, and I really appreciate you including us in the development process with such an early beta. Thank you!

Well, the app is simple but convenient, that is overall impression

Few things I noticed:

- when you read some articles in a feed and go in the folder of the feed after that, read counters on the folder are not updated. They are updated correctly only if you go to the top level.

- there is no 'mark all read' button

- top level Android drawer bar becomes hidden - app is displayed on full screen always. It's somewhat annoying for me. At least could be configurable in settings.

- very minor issue - the app icon does not look very good on dark background because of white pixels in the corneres - I think they must be transparent

My phone is HTC One with Android 4.1

Hi!

A few things from me:

- Please do not query/update database in main thread. Not a single call to sqlite - the app becomes unresponsive and crashes.

- Please switch to unicode. Most of my subscriptions are not in english

- Please use Holo android theme, native actionbar and do not set background to each list item. The ui (i know, alpha version, no desing. but anyway) looks too overloaded and hostile.

- As vlanse said, please disable fullscreen mode. You can use "low profile" ui on 4.x+ devices instead.

I can help with testing/development if you would like.

Hoooray! The best thing is that it syncs with the online version. But the only crucial thing I absolutely need is a Mark All as Read button. I anticipate that you guys will keep refining it and making it awesome.

Couple of reactions from me as well.

What I like:

* holy smoke, it's fast!!

* volume rocker switches between posts

What I don't like as much

* always fullscreen

* not able to login with Google-account, while the webbased page allows this

* settings not working yet ?? (part of "- Context menus are not working, they open but items on them still does nothing"??)

Either install lolcat/logcat app like http://goo.gl/RvgNr or open terminal on the device get #logcat or pull adb $adb logcat and paste what you see in notepad and ship it off to yordan or just paste in here

Also are you running any other readers or any other apps other than the plain Google apps? The more stuff you have going on the phone at once the more variable you have to deal with. So try rebooting and open up just the app.

Thank you all for the feedback. Everything will be considered.

Full screen will be removed. It wasn't intentional.

The current build is for target version 4.0 or above. That's why it crashes on 2.3. We will try to build it for lower target versions.

Google login will be available soon.

The context menus are still not working.

Mark all as read will be here of course (our database loves it as much as you :))

Please about the broken characters - give us some example feeds. Everything is Unicode in the app, it even handles RTL properly.

And yes, we have an authorization endpoint:

curl https://www.inoreader.com/accounts/ClientLogin -d Email=username -d Passwd=password

It will be documented with the full API release.

Thank you for quick app update!

Some issues:

* incorrect unread articles count are still there. Counter for folders are behave very strangely. When I have read some article, counter of corresponding folder did not decrement.

* it would be wonderful to have some search functionality with some kind of search bar, not through context menu. (Play Store app is very good example)

* feed icons do not look good. I think they initially have low resolution (they are just site's favicons, aren't they?) but when they are scaled to larger size in the app, they look blurred. The same issue was in Google reader Android app as far as I remember.

* fonts in the app do not look good. For example in Google Currents they look much better (for me). Maybe it makes sense to to make typeface customizable through application settings.

Seems no support of 2.2.1? Can not sign in — always «incorrect password».

Possibly you are trying to log in using your google/facebook account.

If you used google/facebook account to sign up, you should use password which was sent to your email on registration, not gmail/facebook password.

A bug: title with specific characters will be displayed incorrectly, for example A&A will be seen as A&A

"Offline mode still doesn't prefetch items automatically, because it might blow up your data plan. Items are cached while browsing."

I really need this feature. I do not care the data plan because only text content will not consume too much data and most of the users should have a Wi-Fi.

Off line cache is too important for us who always move on subway trains where there are no data link or wifi.

Please add this feature just like gReader does.

And, will InoReader release its API for other developers? -- gReader is really a good android app.

OK I'm running this on my Nexus7 running CM and frankly its not half bad. Meanwhile on the Ville I got my cache up to 56mb this morning and it was working fine, I tried to choke it. Other than the issues you outlined in first release this is a fine app.
